Location: Megalochori is a lovely village located in the center of Santorini, with white painted houses, beautiful churches, narrow cobbled streets, and a quaint village atmosphere surrounded by vineyards. It provides a perfect base from where to explore the island of Santorini. To get to the best beaches of the island (Perivolos, Vlyhada, Red Beach) is just a 10 minutes drive. At the same distance is the capital (Fira). The village starts becoming popular in the last few years and has excellent restaurant options from traditional local tavernas to more gourmet options. A local bakery, mini-market, hairdresser, and supermarket are also available. You can also enjoy a visit to the local winery Gavalas for wine tasting (2 minutes distance from the villa).
